Chromebook Camp 2019

About Chromebook Camp

Chromebook Camp is a free, week-long workshop for students grades 7-12 that teaches students how to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and certify Chromebooks to industry standards. By the end of the week, students will understand:

  • How to fully take apart a Chromebook.

  • How to identify and use proper safety equipment.

  • How to identify all the component parts of a Chromebook.

  • How to identify damaged parts.

  • How to reassemble a fully working device.

Over the course of the week, students will be led through exercises that will help them develop their technical sense and understanding of how computers and Chromebooks work.

At the end of the week, students will take the Dell Technician 1000 Certification exam that covers Chromebooks, Desktops and Laptops, and will receive a certificate upon successful completion.

For students who have already learned most of the technical aspects from the camp in previous years, a refresher is the first part of the week, and the second half is devoted to working on leadership, organization, prioritization, problem solving and other soft skills that make those with the technical knowledge invaluable in the industry.
