Cell Phones and Electronics

BOARD POLICY 5131

The following guidelines shall apply to all regular school activities:

Students may possess cellular/digital telephones on campus, provided that such devices do not disrupt the educational program or school activity.  Authorized use of cell phones shall include before and after school, and during sporting events or extra-curricular activities.  Phones may not be turned on during school time, this includes breaks and lunch.

 

Consequences for Cell Phone Violations

 

First Offense

Cell phone will be confiscated and turned into a site administrator.  Parent/Guardian will be contacted.  Student may pick up phone at the end of the day.

 

Second Offense

Cell phone will be confiscated and turned into a site administrator.  Parent/Guardian will be contacted.  The phone shall only be returned to the Parent/Guardian of the student, upon request.

 

Third Offense

Cell phone will be confiscated and turned into a site administrator.  Parent/Guardian will be contacted.  The phone will not be returned until the end of the year.  After fifteen (15) calendar days following the end of the regular school year, unclaimed phones will be turned over to local law enforcement.

 

The school will not be responsible for lost or stolen phones!

 

 

Personal Electronics (CD Players/i-Pods)

 

Students are allowed to have CD Players/i-Pods on campus.  They are allowed to be used before school, during breaks, during lunch and after-school.  They can not be used during class time.  The inappropriate usage of either of these devices will result in the item being confiscated and turned into the office.

 

The school will not be responsible for lost or stolen CD Players or i-Pods!

Personal electronics

Cell phones

are allowed only before and after-school!
