Quality Students, Quality Programs, Quality People

Waggoner Elementary School believes in the positive growth and development for all students. We have a diverse student body with approximately one-third of our students speaking Spanish as their first language. We offer many programs for our students such as Las Danzantes, Conflict Managers, Student Council, Nature Bowl, Star Parties, Drama Club, and Pioneer Days. Monthly assemblies give students and teachers an opportunity to share their learning and build a sense of community. We have a very supportive community with an active PTA, Site Council and Learning Environment Committee. Our school has an arboretum that is maintained by students and the community, and we are looking forward to beginning a school garden project soon.

We have a committed and professional staff at Waggoner Elementary School. Teachers work in strong grade level teams and are able to participate in many District level committees and programs. The District fosters opportunity for professional growth and leadership and administrators are open and accessible. Programs such as the Spanish Summer Immersion Program in Guatemala, Area 3 Writing Project, and the UCDavis collaboration with Project Write are a few examples of the level of commitment to providing an excellent education for our students. New teachers in Winters participate in the BTSA program and have one of the highest salaries for new teachers in the Greater Sacramento Area.
